Man robbed with box cutter in SW Portland; 2 arrested

PORTLAND, Ore. – Two men robbed another man with a box cutter in Southwest Portland Friday night, police said.
It happened near Southwest 16th Avenue and Clay Street at around 11:15 p.m. Officers found the suspects with the victim’s help near 16th and Jefferson Street.
Police arrested Paul Ray Hargrow, 32, and Jeremiah Antaiwan Johnson, 29. A 26-year-old woman who was with the suspects was released without charges, police said.
Hargrow and Johnson were taken to the Multnomah County Jail.
Police recovered the victim’s stolen wallet and the box cutter.
If you had tied their mother's welfare to their school performance, perhaps these two would not have grown up to be failures?
But since it is too late for that, any reasonable society would eliminate these criminals quickly and efficiently.
Ban box cutters!
From the stoned glaze in the pics, they look like they needed more money to purchase some more of that legal marijuana from up in Washington. Close the borders!
 @Roy Johnson Yeah 'cause nobody grows marijuana in Oregon.
Box cutters are the weapons of terrorists...send 'em to Gitmo!
 @Mikey I would. And I'd personally interrogate them.  Believe me, they'd get an offer they wouldn't refuse. After that, they would be law abiding citizens.

 @Bill Preston Accurately so, I call them "MBAs" for Mobile Bad Areas.  And now you know why!
 @Bill Preston Definitely Fishbait.
 @Bill Preston Simple question - are they or are they not responsible for their actions...??Â
 @Bill Preston Bubba's going to get them in jail unless Jesse and Al come to their rescue.
 @Bill Preston Original.
 @Bill Preston I bet they do crack.
 @Bill Preston Whatever makes you feel important...
What's the description of the victim? Was this a "hate crime"?  Or if the victim was White, did they not say the word "cracker", therefore not reaching the hate crime definition?
 @last boyscout You should know better than that.  It's only a hate crime when a white guy does something untoward to a black guy.  Anytime it's a black on white crime, it's societies fault for failing these poor young men somewhere along the line.
 @'CouvGuy  @last boyscout Yea, the MAN is keeping the poor black folk down......
 @'CouvGuy To some degree society is to blame. It's to the degree that society has failed to denounce the lifestyle that favors unwed mothers and glorifies the un-importance of marriage and fathers.
-----s pleez.
 @I_Miss hah hah hah hah!  Good one!  I presume you've seen this:  http://www.myspace.com/video/nicholas-wells/ebonic-charlie-brown-don-39-t-view-if-you-hate-stereotyping/862424
<sarcasm>
Ban boxes! Â Then we can safely take boxcutters off the streets.
</sarcasm>
Â
A couple of real winners here! Hargrow has a three page rap sheet with an apparent proclivity for robbery and drugs. Johnson must be a trainee because he cannot compete with his buddy for rap sheet length but still has multiple entries for theft, robbery, and parole/probation violations. Neither is a stranger to the mugshot camera. With our revolving door (in)justice system these two are probably already out and targeting potential new victims.
Â
Â
Must be a "gun free zone". Â Â
The real 'mericans.
They both look like some really dim bulbs.
First sentence, in part, "Two men robbed another man with a box cutter . . . ."
Badly misplaced modifier, KATU trainee 'reporter'. <aside> more like a word mangler!
Â
Who had the box cutter? Did the victim have it, as the above quote would have it? Was it recovered from the victim, as the last sentence would have us believe?
Â
(wanders away, shrugs) Never mind.
 @Gravity Works! Most of the writing is done by unpaid interns. Or, it is in radio.
 @Gravity Works!Â
I agree. The writing is pretty sophomoric.
 @RalphCramden Not even that, Ralph. Leave the sophos (educated) part out. Moronic wil lsuffice. These are supposed to be professional journalists.
 @Mikey  @RalphCramden Cancel your subscription then FFS.Quit being a crybaby over something that's provided to your for free, you freakin' liberal.
@RalphCramden @Gravity Works! You are overly kind. I was thinking elementary school level.
 @hewhoo    @GravityÂ
In the Portland Public School system they are just learning how to construct a sentence in 10th grade....8-} By 11th they will move on to construction of a paragraph.
Crime don't pay do it bros?Â
Â
Jebus, they sure did pick a dumb neighborhood where they are basically cornered and have limited escape routes. Thank goodness they got caught. Losers.
29 & 32?! Â Really old enough to know better and be doing something better with their lives...
'Jeremiah Johnson'Â Wow! This guy already has a wikipedia page!
Â

My map says 16th and Clay don't intersect.
Â
But 16th and Jefferson is right at the Crime Train stop.
 @alohan  Sorry, alohan, but you have failed to perform your duty of swallowing everything the media tries to feed you. We, as 'news consumers', are supposed to accept everything the media does without question. You are setting a bad example for the young and impressionable.
You have made my day, thanks.
Quick! We need to ban box cutters now!
The story begins "Two men robbed a man with a box cutter". Who had the box cutter, the victim? Awkward grammar there, I be thinking?
They will be enjoying free room and board on us taxpayers. I thnk we should bring back chain gangs or something even less fun.
@OCJohn Yup! But wouldn't that be work? Work is anathema to those who want what you have but don't want to earn it. Unless you can call robbery work.
These two guys look like they didn't sleep well? Oh well, at least they weren't assault box-cutters!
 @jpk I was thinking along the lines of Sleepy and Dopey.Â
@jpk Yeah that crack, and meth will keep you awake.
Dumb ass.
