Benson Hotel briefly evacuated after reported bomb threat

PORTLAND, Ore. – Police evacuated The Benson hotel in Downtown Portland after a reported bomb threat Wednesday morning.

Officers were called to the hotel, located at 309 SW Broadway, around 9:15 a.m.

Guests and staff evacuated the hotel as a precaution while officers checked for suspicious items, police said. Nothing suspicious was found and the hotel was given the all-clear around 10:30 a.m.

The hotel manager told a KATU photographer that the bomb threat came from a New York phone number.
