Police release sketch of suspect in skateboard attack

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Police have released a composite sketch of the suspect who attacked a 70-year-old employee of the Portland Outdoor Store Monday with a skateboard.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect.

Investigators believe there may have been several witnesses associated with the suspect who have not spoken to police. The suspect was with a group of at least two men and one woman at the time of the attack. who police described as transient "street kids."

Victim Larry Allen was hit over the head with the skateboard while hosing off the sidewalk outside the store at Southwest Third and Oak Street in downtown Portland.

He was rushed to the hospital with serious head injuries and is still recuperating.

The suspect is described as white, in his 20s, 6 feet tall, with a thin build, light-colored eyes and blond and brownish hair.
