Police and PSU public safety officers are looking for this man, who's accused of assaulting a female student on Saturday.

PORTLAND, Ore. – Police and Portland State University public safety officers are investigating a reported assault on a female student.

The crime happened just before 4 p.m. on Saturday. The public safety office issued a warning about the attack.

The victim was not hurt. The woman told police that the suspect followed her from the transit mall into Neuberger Hall, where he got into an elevator with her and physically assaulted her. She fought back by hitting the man until he ran away.

The suspect is described as a white man who is 6’1’’ tall with a medium build. He has green eyes and a shiny, bald head. The man was wearing a straw safari hat with a chin strap, olive green cargo shorts and a gray shirt. He was carrying a black bag.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call PSU Public Safety at 503-725-4404 or the Portland Police Bureau non-emergency line at 503-823-3333.

This is the second time in less than two months that someone has reported an attack inside Neuberger Hall, a classroom building that's located right off Southwest Broadway near the transit mall. Back in April, police say a man grabbed a woman from behind in a hallway, stole her phone and ran.

At that time, we asked Phil Zerzan, Chief of Campus Public Safety at Portland State University, about the lack of security at Neuberger Hall and other buildings at Portland State University (you can walk right inside any of them without any identification).

Zerzan said he is constantly reviewing security measures and that he has to look at accessibility to building, like Neuberger Hall, that is open long hours and has so many students coming and going. We are planning to meet with Zerzan later on Monday to see if this latest attack will prompt any changes in security.

There have also been other similar incidents in recent months:

In April, a woman told police someone groped her outside a building at the university. Police believe Timothy Webster was the groper. Authorities later arrested him in Seattle on unrelated charges.

A suspect who hit and sexually assaulted a Portland State University student last November still has not been caught. Police provided the sketch below for the man they are looking for in that case:
