BANDON, Ore. - It's not everyday a place gets to say they are one of the 100 top vacation towns in the country, but for one South Coast city, they are receiving that distinction for the second time in a row.

Bandon is featured in a new vacation guidebook "The Great Towns of America" written by David and Joan Vokac.

100 towns from coast to coast are featured in the newest edition of the guidebook, which was first released in 1998, and also featured Bandon.

Bandon Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Julie Miller says she's happy Bandon made the cut.

"It doesn't surprise me that Bandon made it into this book. We have such an amazing and beautiful little town here and when people come, they just fall in love. It's, if you live here, you understand that we have what most people want and what we have is magic," says Miller.

Miller hopes with the recent exposure, it will help put Bandon on the map for some travelers deciding on their summer plans.

"It just tells people throughout the United States and the world that Bandon has what it takes, has something special and you need to come and visit us. But it's something we already know, if you come here, you're gonna want to come back."

Other towns featured in the book include Bar Harbor, Maine and Cambria, California.

Bandon was one of seven towns selected on the Oregon coast.
