When 600-pound, spear-tipped fish attack....

NEAR PANAMA - An Alabama teen nearly went from hunter to prey when the 600-pound marlin he was trying to reel in almost jumped into the boat.

The incident was caught on video.

Steven Shultz, 18, was out on a marlin expedition off the coast of Panama when he hooked the fiesty big fish and began to reel it in.

Marlins are notorious and spectacular jumpers when hooked, often clearing the water several times as they fight to get off the line.

The spear-tipped marlin continued jumping clear of the water as it drew closer to the boat.

Suddenly, the 600-pound fish jumped right next to the boat, angled in and smacked the teen in the head before falling back into the water.

The teen required medical attention for facial fractures and other minor injuries following the incident. No word on whether the black marlin made its escape.
