PORTLAND, Ore. - It was one of the best moments of Sunday's Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure - a surprise proposal on live television.

Tracie Benjamin, 30, has been battling breast cancer for five months now. Her mother has been through the same thing.

"I've been doing this for 10 years for my mom," she said. "But this is my first time being on the other side. I was talking to my boyfriend last night saying 'I better hold it together.' "

We interviewed Tracie Sunday morning during our coverage of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. She was totally composed while talking about her treatment and what she has been through.

The tears came, though, when her boyfriend got down on one knee. It was something she was not expecting at all.

"I love you so much and I want to be with you and I want you to know that," he told her on live television. "I want to ask you to marry me. Spend the rest of your life with me."

Her answer? "Yes! Of course!"

Tracie has been featured on KATU before. We recently went wig shopping with her and also talked to her earlier this year about her business.
