We never know what life is going to throw our way, but it's always amazing when someone is able to turn a negative into a positive. Tanya Hawkins did just that, and now Portland's homeless are seeing the benefits. Click on the "Play Video" button to watch this story. Gung Ho Ministries
Knowing Tanya, I can attest to the fact that she is indeed this genuine. Â A generous and inspirational giver to the end and a beautiful soul. Â There really needs to be more people like her in this world. Â She is amazing, and, yes, truly that humble. Â Thanks for doing a story on her and recognizing her goodness. Â APaysÂ
She is the most giving person you will ever meet!!!
I love it! It made me smile the whole time I watched it!
That's a neat thing..The homeless do need a bit more compassion from the average person on the street. Â I think the praying thing was a bit much though. Â If there is a god I think he already knows the guy is on the street.

Indeed, God knows that the man is homeless, but he uses people like this lady to reach out with compassion, food, a kind touch and yes, a prayer. I can't imagine being destitute, dirty and homeless. Then, to have a total stranger offer me food, clothing and a prayer. Wow, she is anything but average.
