Farmers market season is in full swing

PORTLAND, Ore. - If you're craving some fresh fruits and vegetables from local farmers, now is the best time to find some for your summertime recipes.
Most of the farmers markets for the 2012 season are already up and running, with a few stragglers opening up this week.
On Sunday, the Lents International Farmers Market in Southeast Portland kicked off for the year and Monday is opening day of the farmers market at Pioneer Courthouse Square in downtown Portland. West Linn's starts on Wednesday.
We stopped by the market at Pioneer Courthouse Square on Monday to get an idea of how business is going so far. Ted Whitaker, a farmer with Split River Growers out of Sauvie Island, said it's going rather well.
"It's fantastic," he said. "We kind of underestimated what we should bring and we're already looking forward to next week."
To help you find a farmers market close to you, we've compiled a list of the ones in Portland and the surrounding area.
If there's one in your neighborhood that we missed, send us an e-mail so we can add it to our guide.
