LINCOLN CITY, Ore. (AP) - Family members found the body of a Texas fisherman whose boat capsized in the 45-degree waters of Devils Lake near the Oregon Coast, the sheriff's department said Tuesday.
The Lincoln County sheriff's office identified the man as Nathan Taylor of Denton, Texas.
Authorities said Taylor and a companion were in an 8-foot aluminum boat that took on water and turned over Monday. The pair had no life jackets, and the companion was unable to save Taylor, deputies said.
An onlooker jumped into a nearby canoe and, using a broom for a paddle, was able to rescue Taylor's companion, whom the sheriff's office did not identify.
