Boat washes up on Wash. coast; may be tsunami debris

LONG BEACH, Wash. (AP) - The Washington Marine Debris Task Force says a 20-foot boat washed ashore Friday on the Long Beach Peninsula.
The boat has some Japanese markings, and officials are trying to determine whether it was washed away in the March 2011 tsunami that hit Japan.
The task force says there's no oil or hazardous materials on the boat that was found near Long Beach on the Washington coast.
The boat is covered with barnacles and other marine life. The Fish and Wildlife Department will steam clean it to remove any invasive species.

Clean it up, it surely passed the test run, put it up FO SAIL
That's where I parked my damn boat.
we need to have a tsunami here so we can send a bunch of junk back to japan and get them back for this
@Phuzz Uh...yeah Fuzz after all it IS Japan's fault right? Sheesh
this garbage is going to be washing up for years. Â sad.
@From the OC Find the lord, feel no sadness about crap you cant do nothing about. chill. take your meds..have your mom lower your rent in the basement. get off the meth.Â
Well, let's make a memorial out of this like they did the dock. Â By the time all the garbage washes up on the beaches in Oregon, the state will have lots of tsunami memorials and relics. Â I'm sure Japan thinks the state of Oregon is nuts, with good reason.
@Shadow Pssst -- If you'd read the story, THIS one is in Washington.
Oh, come on! Let me give you a HUGE hint...Japanese writing, "foreign marine life", long-time barnacle crusting. YEP! It's Tsunami debris.Â
Get real.Â
Did that bottle ride all the way like that?

@Fruity Pebbles Oh, go on, FishBait. Say you're sorry!
A decoration for a sushi restaurant
In a few months we will get a few million tons of debris hitting the coast. Are they going to do a news article every time something washes up on the coast?
@RalphCramden Breaking News!  Another SOLV weekend clean-up to happen soon. Will the amount of garbage collected this year outweigh the garbage from last year? (*sarcasm)
@washcomom
It will especially when they toss in a few boats and cement docks.....8-}
A MAJOR news story, at least!
Move along ....Nothing to see here.....Move along....Nothing to see here.....
Golly, another boat made in Japan for Craig's List!
@jpk remember when made in japan meant it did not last
Those were the days my friend! LOL. Nowadays, there is a half-life to items made in Japan, and they don't even require shipping; they just arrive all by themselves! LOL
@tally @jpk This still might make Godzilla.With the amount of Radiation dumped into the Ocean . http://www.infowars.com/fish-caught-near-fukushima-shows-more-than-2500-times-legal-radiation-limit-for-human-consumption/
@jpk We are all lucky this did not wake Godzilla
Quick, give it a tuition break.
Mikio row de boat ashore, Hallelujah!
Quick, get out there, send the helicopter, send a van, get a crew on the scene. This is the most amazing story EVER! Something washed up on the beach, and it's a boat, and it's got Japanese writing on it. Tells us about the invasive species NOW!
@JTesla Lack of dog rescues lately. Need a story about a dog getting rescued while stuck somehow trying to retrieve tsunami debris. Good news is I can spell tsunami now and I don't know why.

@Sundowner @tally @JTesla Bad timing now for KH - with the red balloons being launched for the girls two year disappearance who was found on rock de butte
@JTesla OH MY GOD! I need to get home and check my yard, there might be another plastic bag back there. It seems to happen when this stuff shows up on the beach. I wonder if there is some connection?
