Deja Vu all over again: Former elected officials back on ballot
Lee Beyer, John Kitzhaber and Jerry Rust

EUGENE, Ore. - Three races on the November ballot feature candidates who served in the same office and left it years ago. | More Campaign 2010 News

STATE SENATE: Lee Beyer of Springfield spent 10 years in the Oregon legislature, including the state Senate. Democrat Sen. Bill Morrisette retired from Senate District 6, and Beyer stepped back into the race against Republican Michael Spasaro and Independent Scott Reynolds.

COUNTY COMMISSION: Jerry Rust was a Lane County Commissioner for 20 years before leaving the office 13 years ago. He faces Jay Bozievich in the West Lane race.

GOVERNOR: John Kitzhaber served two terms as Oregon's governor. By law, he could not run for a third consecutive term. But after eight years of the Ted Kulongoski administration, Kitzhaber beat former Secretary of State Bill Bradbury for his party's nomination. The Republicans nominated former TrailBlazer basketball player Chris Dudley.
