Gov. Kulongoski endorses Hillary Clinton
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Oregon Gov. Ted Kulongoski has endorsed Hillary Clinton for president.

He said in a statement Thursday she's the best equipped among the Democratic Party's candidates to "repair the damage of the last seven years and repair our standing in the world."

A top aide to Oregon's Democratic Senator Ron Wyden, Josh Kardon, steers Clinton's campaign in Oregon. He also worked on Kulongoski's re-election campaign in 2006.

Although the nomination is likely to have been wrapped up before Oregon's primary election, Kardon says the endorsement will be influential nationally because of the governor's ties to veterans and labor and support for working people and alternative energy.
