Former coach faces charges involving alleged sex with teens

Update as of 2 p.m. Aug. 26: Lindell turned herself in Friday morning to the Northern Oregon Regional Correctional Facilities in The Dalles. She posted $2,500 bail, was booked and then released.

DUFUR, Ore. - A former basketball coach from the tiny town of Dufur is in some hot water over accusations she had sex with three teenage boys.

Angela Lindell, 24, grew up in Dufur and starred in volleyball, basketball and track. She went on to play volleyball at Linfield College but back in her hometown, investigators say she had sex with two 17-year-old boys and a 16-year-old boy between February, 2010 and April, 2011.

The charges are the talk of the town and KATU has learned that the Wasco County district attorney is alerting authorities in Polk County after getting evidence that suggests Lindell may have had sex with another underage student there when she worked with a family member as a volunteer coach.

We went to Lindell's parents' home on Wednesday to try to get her side of the story but a woman inside did not come to the door.

One of the families of the alleged victims has told us they intend to sue the school district. We wanted to get the superintendent's take on what is going on but he did not return our phone calls on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Lindell remains free but has to report to jail by Friday. She will be allowed to stay free if she posts $2,500 bail.
