Stolen nude rug found stuffed in a plastic bag

MCMINNVILLE, Ore. - A one-of-a-kind piece of artwork that was stolen from a college art gallery has been found.

Artist Tamara Bremer spent thousands of hours weaving a life-size nude self portrait into a rug.

The curvy cutout was fashioned from monk's cloth, a heavy cotton and hand painted in ten colors on alpaca yarn.

Back in October, the rug was stolen from the Linfield College art gallery.

Just a few days ago, someone found it stuffed in a plastic bag and dumped near a McMinnville apartment complex.

"I'm just really happy to have it back and am ready to move onto my next project," said Bremer. "I'm actually putting together a video of all the news coverage and the return of the rug."

Bremer, who is now working on a new rug project, said the rug portrait was wet from being out in the elements. It is now being examined by an art expert to see how bad the damage is.
