Family of missing Rainier man asks for help
RAINIER, Ore. - Family members are asking for help in locating a man missing for more than a week from a small town along Highway 30 in Oregon.
Gabe Triplett, an adult male, has not been seen since going on a hike in the woods near the towns of Rainier and Goble. Rainier is located across the Columbia River from Longview, Washington.
A search by local law enforcement at locations frequented by Triplett have turned up no leads. Family members initially thought he had headed to his grandfather's home.
Family members said a car accident in 2003 left Triplett with injuries resulting in a limp and reduced memory abilities. He may behave erratically according to those close to him. His sister was killed in the car accident.
Triplett reportedly took a backpack and blanket with him on the hike, but no food, money or ID. He may have facial hair at this time, and is described as about 5 foot 8 inches tall, 160 pounds with dark brown hair and blue eyes.
If you see Triplett, Columbia County Sheriff's Deputies ask that you call 911 and report his location.
