PORTLAND, Ore. - A local conservative talk show host is pulling out the big guns by urging Republicans around Oregon to commit party treason and switch sides, at least for a day.

For the May primary, KPAM's Victoria Taft wants Oregon Republicans and Independents to register as a Democrat so they can meddle with the party's tight race.

Taft wants Hillary Clinton to beat Barack Obama in Oregon to keep the Democrats divided as long as possible, so they spend their money attacking each other and not John McCain.

Not everyone is convinced the strategy will work.  One KPAM caller said "I can't do it.  I can't look my grandkids in the eye years from now and say I registered as a Dem once."

In case you were wondering, according to the Secretary of State's office you can switch just for the primary and then switch back.
