Detectives from the Portland Police Bureau Missing Persons Unit are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing North Portland man.

Dario Rolon-Centeno, 61, was last seen at his home in the 4000 block of N. Commercial Avenue, on Thursday morning, March 27, 2008.

Rolon-Centeno is an independent tow truck owner/operator.  Family members reported that everything seemed fine when he left home to answer an unknown call for tow service at about 10:30 a.m. that morning.  He has not been seen or heard from since, which is described as being very out of character for him.  Rolon-Centeno has been married for over 36 years with no prior history of being missing or any substance abuse.

Family and friends told detectives they are especially concerned because Rolon-Centeno suffers from a serious heart condition for which he is scheduled to undergo surgery in the coming week.  They said he is in critical need of numerous medications and his life could be in immediate danger if he were to be without them.

There has been no activity on Rolon-Centeno’s cell phone or financial accounts since he was last seen. Detectives have been working to identify the source of the call made to Rolon-Centeno’s cell phone Thursday morning.  Although there is no evidence of a crime at this time, detectives say they cannot rule out the possibility that Rolon-Centeno’s sudden disappearance might be related to foul play or a medical crisis.

Rolon-Centeno is described as a Hispanic male, 61-years-old, standing 5’05” tall and weighing 155 pounds.  He is balding on top with salt/pepper hair on the sides.  He has a small mole on the right side of his face and is missing a finger.  He was last seen wearing a black raincoat, black jeans, brown cowboy boots and a black cap with a red and white goat on the front.

Rolon-Centeno’s tow truck is a white 1992 Isuzu standard tow truck, with the older style yellow Oregon license plate TW19196 in the rear window.  The words “Sam’s Towing” are still visible on the sides of the truck, where the old logos had been removed.

Anyone who knows where Rolon-Centeno might be should immediately call 911.  Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Detective Tim Sukimoto, Missing Persons Unit, at (503) 823-0462.
