CLACKAMAS COUNTY - You trust them to move your precious property but you could end up losing a lot of money or even worse, your belongings.

Movers advertising on Web sites like Craigslist may offer cut-rate prices but investigators say the customers often end up getting a raw deal.

On Thursday, with cameras rolling, unsuspecting movers found out one address was not what it seemed. 

You see, there was no customer behind the door, just Clackamas County sheriff's deputies and investigators who were checking licenses, insurance and inspecting the rigs for safety violations.

Investigators found 60 truck safety violations and gave out more than 40 tickets.  They also arrested three people for parole violations.

Tips For Picking A Mover

  • Always get a written and signed estimate.
  • Make sure the mover is licensed, bonded and insured.
  • Check with the Better Business Bureau.
