More stimulus checks hit bank accounts today
By KATU Web StaffPORTLAND, Ore. – With news of some federal economic stimulus checks going out this week, many people are asking, "Where's my money?" An IRS spokeswoman said the first batch of checks started going out Monday for people who:
And, yes, about 800,000 people got their money on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday – including some people at KATU. Of course, that's a small number compared to the overall population. Another 6.9 million people should receive the cash in their bank accounts by Friday, according to the spokeswoman. Taxpayers with Social Security Numbers ending in 21 through 75 should receive their deposits by the following Friday, May 9. The last batch goes out by May 16.
