Pregnant woman dies from crash injuries, baby is OK

PORTLAND, Ore. - The pregnant driver who crashed her sport utility vehicle into a semi truck was taken off life support and died on Mother's Day, authorities have confirmed.

Courtney M. Corbett, 22, of Gladstone, was trapped for 45 minutes after the crash on Highway 224 on April 25 after police said she broadsided a semi truck with her SUV.

Corbett had to be cut out of the vehicle by rescue crews. The driver of the truck was not injured, and it appeared Corbett did not brake before hitting the trailer of the large semi.

Corbett's full-term baby boy was delivered at the hospital the day of the crash and is reportedly healthy.
