This is a press release courtesy of the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office
On Tuesday, June 03, 2008, at approximately 2:00 a.m., Victor Ryan Proffitt, 23-years of age, who resides in Colton, was robbed at gunpoint when three masked male suspects forced entry into his residence while demanding money from Proffitt at gunpoint. Victor Proffitt indicated to deputies that he recently received a modest cash disability payment as a result of a civil settlement. Obviously, the armed intruders had knowledge about the confidential information and targeted the money by verbally demanding of Proffitt, "Where is the settlement money? Where is the settlement money?" The armed residential robbery suspects appeared to have remained in the residence, where Victor Proffitt lives alone, for an estimated 30-minute interval. During the robbery event, Victor Proffitt was held at gunpoint while the masked suspects ransacked his residence and vehicle for items of value. During the time the suspects were in the home, Proffitt reports the excited trio referred to each other by their first names (Mike, Joe and Miguel) as the activity in the residence became more and more frenzied while the suspects searched for any items of value. At one point, the frantic robbers received a cellular phone call from the apparent getaway driver and announced aloud, "Christina called! Christina called!" A short time later, a full sized pick-up truck arrived in the area following the announcement by one of the suspects. Victor Proffitt described the suspects and suspect vehicle as follows: 1. "MIKE" is described as a white male adult, 20-25 years of age, 5 foot 11 inches tall, 250 pounds or more with a ‘huge' stomach and short brown hair. "Mike" was wearing a gray hooded sweat shirt, blue jeans and had a dark colored bandanna covering his face. 2. "Joe" is described as a white male adult, 20-25 years of age6 foot to 6 foot 2 inches tall with a thin build. He was also wearing a dark colored hooded sweat shirt, blue jeans and bandanna. Suspect "Joe" was described to have been wearing a pair of gray colored Nike's. 3. "Miguel" is described as a Hispanic male adult, 20-25 years of age, 5 foot 6 inches tall, medium build, and was wearing a dark jacket and blue jeans. At least two of these armed suspects were described to have been wearing a pair of shoes popular with members of the skateboarding community. The "FF" brand is quite trendy with skateboarders, and the logo "FF" is prominently featured on this brand of shoe. The suspects fled the residence to the arriving suspect vehicle, presumed to be operated by a driver referred to by the suspects as "Christina". The getaway vehicle is described as a large, dark colored, full-size pick-up truck, which may have a canopy affixed. The suspect vehicle with occupants and stolen property was last observed southbound on State Highway 211, near the South Elwood Road intersection. Stolen from the residence during the robbery event are the following items described as: a large Sharp AQUOS brand LCD flat screen television, some U.S. currency, clothing, hats, and a Sony Playstation 3 game console. Anyone with information concerning this robbery event is encouraged to contact the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, Tip Line, at 503-723-4949. |
