TROUTDALE, Ore. - Police believe someone killed a Troutdale woman who was found dead in her home Friday evening.

Authorities identified the woman as 68-year-old Paula Jordan.

According to police, friends went to the woman's home at 1377 S.W. 10th St. about 6 p.m. to pick her up. When she didn't come to the door, they went inside, found her dead and called police.

Officers saw something suspicious at the scene - they wouldn't say what - and called for detectives to respond. They determined the apparent cause of death was not natural, and an autopsy by the medical examiner's office ruled the death as a homicide.

Police did not release the cause of death, however.

Police said this is the first homicide in the city in more than 10 years.

Neighbors said Jordan lived alone and didn't have a caretaker.

Anyone with information on the case was asked to call the Major Crimes Team tip line at (503) 618-2719 or (888) 989-3505.
