Anti-abortion protesters trying to stop Planned Parenthood location
By KATU Web StaffPORTLAND, Ore. - The plan to build a new Planned Parenthood clinic in northeast Portland is almost a done deal but anti-abortion protesters believe they can still stop the development from happening. The new clinic would be located at Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Beech Street. The developer, Beech Street Partners, was supposed to submit all of the closing documents to the Portland Development Commission (PDC) by Wednesday but the city decided to give them an extra 60 days. Anti-abortion protesters say they will use the delay to try to galvanize the public but officials at PDC say that will not change anything because they have signed a legally binding agreement. |
