GREEK FESTIVAL
You'll find spanakopita, gyro, baklava and much more at the 57th annual Greek Festival at northeast Portland's Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral. As part of the three-day festival, you can learn to make greek dishes and desserts, watch greek folk dancing and eat well.

  WRITE AROUND PORTLAND FUNDRAISER
Wordsmiths unite! At Wordigo, there will be Boggle and Speed Scrabble, MadLibs, poker, pools of typewriters to create-your-own story and, of course, cocktails. Sounds like a great way for you creative types to lose your writer's block.
  ART SHOW FEATURING WOMEN ARTISTS
The 41st annual Local 14 Art Show and Sale represents the artwork of more than 90 female artists from throughout the Northwest. You'll find all kinds of one-of-a-kind hand bags, rings, necklaces, pottery and much more over at the World Forestry Center.
FREE VISIT TO CLASSICAL CHINESE GARDEN
On Sunday you can visit this city-owned garden in northwest Portland for free thanks to the city's Office of International Affairs. That's an $8.50 value, folks. The garden takes up an entire block and includes a lake, a teahouse and much more.
  PORTLAND MARATHON
So you probably won't spontaneously decide to run 26.2 miles this weekend, but the thousands of runners taking over part of the city Sunday could sure use your support. Line the race course and cheer them on toward the finish line. Course map

 MOVIE REVIEWS

  "RACHEL GETTING MARRIED"
As good as Anne Hathaway and her co-stars are, a little of their characters' recriminations and reproaches would have gone a long way. A lot of recriminations and reproaches is what the director gives us, and the film collapses under the weight of the family's shared distress.
  "RELIGULOUS"
Bill Maher has taken his crusade against religion to the big screen, zealously traveling the world for his documentary that challenges the validity and value of Christian, Jewish and Islamic faiths.
  NIGHTS IN RODANTHE
Nights in Rodanthe, based on the Nicholas Sparks novel of the same name, can be seen as an antidote for the lack of unabashedly romantic movies out there, but it's also a film that's refreshing in that it doesn't make the romance the end all, be all of its story.
