Tigard car crash leaves two dead
By KATU Web StaffTIGARD, Ore. – Two people died and another was severely injured in a one-car crash early Friday morning in Tigard. A witness said that the vehicle, a vintage convertible Camaro, was traveling at high speed when it left the road, flipped end over end and came to rest against a house located at Southwest 135th and Southwest Brittany Drive. Two people in the car, a man and a woman, died at the scene. The driver, Corey Warwick, 22, was ejected from the car and landed on the roof of the house the car hit. He was taken to a hospital with severe injuries. The identities of the two people who died in the crash have not yet been released. No one in the home was injured. It took crews several hours to remove the mangled car from the side of the home. Damage to the home appeared to be limited to an exterior wall. Mindy McComb, who lives near the site of the crash, told KATU News she has seen many drivers speeding in the area along with drunk drivers and other problems. She arrived on the scene shortly after the crash, which took place at about 2:30 a.m. McComb said she and other residents have called police about dangerous drivers to little effect and is not surprised at the crash that took place Friday. An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
