Suspects in RV flee police, crash into house
By KVAL Web StaffSPRINGFIELD, Ore. -- Two suspects in a stolen 27-foot motorhome tried to escape police at speeds up to 50 mph only to crash into a home early Monday. Police responding to a report of a motorhome that had hit a parked car around 1:37 a.m. attempted to stop the 27-foot vehicle on Centennial Boulevard in Springfield. The RV drove off into a residential area at high speeds before hitting a house on Menlo Loop. The two suspects fled on foot. A police dog located one of the men, Robert Zacevich, 18, under a vehicle. The other suspect, Neal Desimone Jr., 20, was located 40 minutes later on Highway 126. The two face charges of unauthorized use of a vehicle, unlawful entry into a motor vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle, reckless driving, reckless endangering, hit and run, DUII and criminal mischief 2. |
