LEBANON, Ore. (AP) - A Lebanon man fatally shot himself after a revolver he was handling accidentally fired, wounding him in the lower abdomen.

Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller said Gregory Wayne Fisher, 25, was visiting a home in Lebanon Saturday when he found a holstered .22-caliber revolver on the back of a chair he was sitting in.

Witnesses said Fisher removed the weapon from the holster and, after handling it a few minutes, unintentionally fired it in the living room.

He was pronounced dead at a hospital. The bullet severed his femoral artery.
