Radio talk show host Mary Starrett to run for governor

- PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland radio talk show host and
anti-abortion activist Mary Starrett is planning a run for
governor.
She tells The Oregonian that she'll seek the nomination of the conservative Constitution Party, which holds a nominating convention this weekend in Lake Oswego.
Starrett could pull some key votes from Republican nominee Ron Saxton.
Saxton is pro-choice, although he says he would support some limitations on the procedure, like parental notification.
Starrett hosted AM Northwest on KATU until 1997 and later had a talk show on KPDQ, a Portland-based Christian radio station.
She recently helped start an anti-abortion group, Oregonians for Life, that says it will accept no compromises on the issue.
