Mother accused of stabbing son appears in court
- SIFTON, Wash. - Kellie Meining, who is accused of stabbing her 20-month-old son to death, made her first appearance in court on Monday.

Meining was arraigned and charged with First-Degree Murder in the death of her son, Bryce.

She was arrested Friday after her husband called 911.

According to police, Meining told them she used a large kitchen knife to stab her son in the stomach and back. The toddler died despite the first responders' attempts to save him.

Meining's next court appearance is scheduled for Friday and her bail has been set at $1 million.

Meining says she has been suicidal since she was a teenager and was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2004.

The Meinings also have a 5-year-old daughter and a 3-year-old son.
