Forecast calls for cold temps, will snow visit Portland?
- By KATU.com Web Staff
PORTLAND, Ore. - After weeks of seemingly unending rainfall, the sun came out last week and over the weekend to give area residents a taste of spring. However, KATU meteorologists say the warm, above-normal temperatures and clear skies will give way to weather more normal for February, including sub-freezing temperatures and a chance of snow by Friday. KATU Meteorologist Julia Radlick says cold air is circulating north of Oregon and Washington, waiting for an opening later in the week to move south into the Northwest. Temperatures in the area could drop into the mid-20s at night and the 30s during the day later this week, and if moisture makes it onshore at the same time, snow could fall.
