Separate shootings leave two people dead
PORTLAND, Ore. - Separate shootings left two people dead in the Portland area, including one man found dead by police after someone called 911 to report one shooting and then hung up the phone.
The first incident took place in Milwaukie about 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
Police are releasing few details about that shooting except to say a man was found dead inside a home in the 10000 block of Southeast Myrtle Street in Milwaukie.
Investigators have not released the identity of the victim, but they did say a witness was being interviewed in connection with the case.
The second shooting took place in the 100 block of Northeast 160th street near Burnside in Portland at about 1 a.m. Friday.
911 operators report they received a call that someone had been shot, but the caller quickly hung up.
Police dispatched to the area found a man in his 20s dead at the scene.
His identification has not been released.
Investigators say six people were taken into custody by police in connection with the case, but so far no one has been charged with a crime.
