- MOUNT HOOD NATIONAL FOREST, Ore. - The sheriff's office has launched a search for a 61-year-old woman who walked off into the Mount Hood National Forest.

Glenda Shoptaugh has been missing for nine days from her home in Estacada. Her son reported her missing last Monday.

Her son says Shoptaugh drove away from the house the two share. She had been acting strangely and spoke of going away. She had also been talking to herself.

She took off in a brown Subaru station wagon. A U.S. Forest Service employee found the car on a forest service road. The car was found with its door open and the keys still in the ignition.

A total of 25 volunteers spent Saturday combing the woods for her and planned to keep looking for her on Sunday.
