Hubbard, Ore. - Three people are behind bars after an officer in Hubbard, which is just north of Woodburn, says he was attacked by two assailants and then fought back.
Officer Ken Foht pulled over Eduardo Valenciano in front of his house for driving with an overloaded pickup. Several people emerged from the house, punched Foht and then struck him above the eye with a flashlight.
After calling in a code zero for backup help, Foht was able to resist his attackers and put them into custody. The entire skirmish was over when other officers arrived.
The three people arrested are all related and are associated with a house officers visit frequently for drug and crime issues.
Officer Foht is recovering from his injuries at home. He has been a Hubbard police officer for three years.
