One last blast of white before temps rise, rain moves into region
PORTLAND, Ore. - Snow fell again across much of the Portland and Vancouver metro area Sunday night but quickly melted away in most areas as a warm front brought rain and temperatures rising well above freezing.
A winter storm warning was in effect for Multnomah, Hood, Clark and Skamania counties. Some upper elevation and rural areas got an inch or more of snow, but most areas got a dusting before rain began falling.
Upper elevation areas got more snow and Monday morning, Clatskanie, Vernonia and Rainier schools were closed. Other school districts were running on one or two hour delays. Get an updated list of school closures here.

Reports of snowflakes came in from Banks and McMinnville to the west, Castle Rock and Vancouver to the north, Fairview and Troutdale to the east and Donald to the south.
Monday morning, most drivers west of the Cascades faced wet roads and fog rather than snowbanks. Central and eastern Oregon cities were still below freezing Monday morning but the incoming warm front was expected to bring most location in Oregon above the freezing mark and bring rain.
KATU Meteorologist Carlos Faura said he expects inches of rain to fall in the coming days, which is no comfort to those still reeling from last week's flooding.
