PORTLAND, Ore. - Police found numerous large marijuana plants growing in the back yard of a north Portland home Tuesday.

Police say the residents of the home where the plants were found had medical marijuana cards, but the amount of marijuana being grown was far beyond what two people could use.

Police say they suspect the men were selling the marijuana from the home located on the 900 block of North Terry Street in north Portland.

An 8-year-old girl who was living in the home was turned over to child protective services.

Drug enforcement officers say some of the plants growing in the yard were close to 10 feet tall, and the smell of the plants could be detected far from the home.

More plants were found growing inside the residence.
