PORTLAND, Ore. - A 55-year-old woman accused of killing her husband and cutting up his corpse was arraigned in court on Tuesday.

Hazelynn Stomps told investigators her husband, Gerald E. Stomps, disappeared Feb. 6 when the couple was assaulted by two unidentified men at a bridge east of Portland.

Searchers looked for Gerald Stomps for days and never found him.  However, more than a week later, sheriff's deputies said they found a mutilated body on the couple's property and newly released court documents show Hazelynn Stomps is charged with mutilating and dismembering her husband's body.

Prosecutors are being very careful not to release too many details about the case.  Many of the court documents are sealed and will be until at least the end of the week.

Hazelynn Stomps did not say a word in court. She entered a plea of not guilty and is being held without bail.
