Quake measuring 4.1 rumbles in rural Oregon

POWERS, Ore. (AP) - A magnitude 4.1 earthquake has been recorded beneath a mountainous area 25 miles south-southeast of the Coos County town of Powers.

The Pacific Northwest Seismograph Network at the University of Washington in Seattle said the quake happened about 2 a.m. Thursday at a depth of about 24 miles.

The network's Web site described it as a light earthquake.

An earthquake with a magnitude of 4 can do moderate damage in built-up areas.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
