Victim recognizes armed robber in home invasion
LONGVIEW, Wash. - A Longview woman terrorized by two masked men who broke into her home early Friday was shocked when the attackers' masks accidentally came off.
It was her friend's boyfriend.
"I instantly recognized him," said the woman, Lanita Camba. "They probably wanted drug money."
Police had actually run into the same man earlier in the evening during a traffic stop. Using that information, along with Camba's identification, police arrested him at a Kelso apartment..
Adam Matthew Jacobs, 21, of Longview, was charged with first-degree robbery, second-degree assault and first-degree burglary as well as being a felon in possession of a firearm and felony harassment. He is being held in the Cowlitz County jail on $100,000 bond.
Police are still searching for the other robber, whom Camba did not recognize.
Camba said she awoke about 3 a.m. Friday with a gun in her face and a pillow smashing her sons.
"They asked for a wallet," Camba said. "I told them it was on the counter. And I asked them not to hurt my kids."
As one robber got the wallet, Camba said a friend, 22-year-old Julian Leong, tried to rescue her, causing a struggle that ended with the friend tied up along with Camba, police said. Camba's two sons, ages 4 and 15 months, as well as her daughter were home during the robbery.
