Autopsy: Teen who collapsed died of idiopathic cardiomyopathy
VANCOUVER, Wash. - An autopsy has revealed why an 8th grade Vancouver boy collapsed in P.E. class and died.
According to the Medical Examiner's ruling, 13-year-old Quinn Driscoll died of idiopathic cardiomyopathy, which basically means he died of an unknown heart condition.
Driscoll fell on the track while running at Wy'east Middle School on Wednesday. School staff performed CPR and called 911 but he died on the way to the hospital.
Students are remembering Driscoll as a strong athlete who touched their lives with his positive personality.
