TUALATIN, Ore. – One man was killed early Thursday morning when police say his vehicle was rear-ended and burst into flames on the Tualatin Valley Highway.

Hillsboro police say a Dodge Stratus hit a GMC SUV between 229th and Brookwood at about 2:30 a.m.

The SUV ended up in a shallow ditch and caught fire, killing the driver, identified as Onesimo Ortiz-Giron, 43, of Hillsboro. Ortiz-Giron reportedly worked at the nearby Nike campus and was going home from work.

Officers arrested the other driver, Julio Urbina, 23, and said he faces felony manslaughter charges.

Urbina and a female passenger in the car were reportedly unhurt.

The crash shut down the highway for several hours as crews cleaned up debris and investigators worked at the scene.
