This is a press release courtesy of the Multnomah County Sheriff's DepartmentOn December 20 at approximately 10 p.m., Multnomah County Sheriff's Office detectives were notified, by the Corrections Records Unit, that Jessy Gene Moore, 21, had been mistakenly released from custody Wednesday evening.
This was an immediate notification to detectives based on the discovery of the apparent mistake that occurred within the MCSO Corrections Records division. The error is under investigation with the Internal Affairs Unit.
Moore had been sentenced to 54 months in prison on December 19 on Sex Abuse I charges (stemming from a Portland Police case) for which he had been arrested on April 27, 2006. Another count of the charge had been dismissed.
Moore was processed for release based on the dismissal order with the 54 month sentence apparently having been overlooked.
Up to this point Moore had been lodged in the Multnomah County Inverness Jail.
Multnomah County Sheriff's Office personnel have been out overnight Wednesday searching for Moore without success. Moore is known to have lived in Clackamas and Salem, but was not at his previous addresses. At present, a warrant is out for Moore’s arrest on two counts of Sex Abuse in the 1
st Degree.
The MCSO is asking for the public’s help in locating Moore. He is described as a white male, 21 years old, 165 pounds, 5 foot 9 inches tall, with brown eyes and short brown hair.
If anyone has information on his location please contact MCSO Records at 503-261-2810.
