FAIRVIEW, Ore. - A teenage girl nearly drowned at Blue Lake Park on Friday and was rushed to the hospital.

According to the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office, the girl was reportedly wading in a shallow area when she slipped down a 45-degree drop on the lake bottom.

The girl's condition is unknown and her identity has not yet been released.

The sheriff's office said it was the same location where three boys were playing the day before and one slipped and almost drowned.  Firefighters walked the area and moved the rope six to eight feet closer to the shore to prevent future accidents.

Sheriff's deputies warn that if you are unsure of of your swimming ability or are in unfamiliar water, be sure to wear a life jacket.
