OREGON CITY, Ore. (AP) — Testimony is nearing an end in the manslaughter trial of an Oregon City couple whose church rejects conventional medicine and whose daughter died last year.

Carl Brent Worthington and Raylene Worthington are accused in the death of 15-month-old Ava Worthington.

Raylene Worthington testified Monday she was surprised by the death. Prosecutors say the family's actions and words in March 2008 showed they believed Ava was seriously ill.

Raylene Worthington was the final defense witness. Prosecutors planned more testimony, but it was not certain that would be completed Monday.
