ALOHA, Ore. - An SUV driven by a tired security worker smashed into a vacant business in Aloha, punching a large hole in the building.

The 24-year-old driver, whom Washington County Sheriff's Deputies say fell asleep at the wheel, was not injured. He was taken to a hospital as a precautionary measure.

The Cascade Enforcement SUV plowed clean through the wall of the building, coming to rest inside the structure that was vacant at the time.

Signage indicated the building housed a tanning salon, but items inside suggested it may have been or may also be a martial arts studio.

No one was inside the building at the time of the impact.

Traffic on Highway 8 through Aloha slowed as lanes were closed to allow a tow truck to extricate the SUV and drivers slowed to take a look.

Deputies cited the driver for careless driving.
