MILL CITY, Ore. - More than two dozen animals, including horses, mules and donkeys are receiving care after being rescued and treated following one of the worst animal neglect cases in Oregon.

Linn County Sheriff's Deputies raided a ranch in Mill City on Thursday and found 116 horses in varying stages of neglect. Mill City is located east of Salem.

Some of the animals were so sick and hungry they were coughing and even eating their own manure.

KATU On Your Side investigators learned that some horses had also died over the past few weeks.

The owner, 30-year-old Tania Herring, faces multiple counts of animal neglect.
