Child, two others found dead in home near Bend

BEND, Ore. (AP) - Three people including an 8-year-old boy have been found dead at their home south of Sunriver.

The Deschutes County Sheriff's Office says a man was found hanging outside the home Thursday and two others were found inside.

The dead were identified as 40-year-old Joachim Steffan, 49-year-old Dagmar Steffan, and 8-year-old Pascal Steffan.

All three lived at the address but authorities did not provide details on their relationship.

There was no word on how the three died, but the sheriff's office said the case was being investigated as a homicide.

The Medical Examiner's Office will be assisting investigators to determine the cause of death.

A news release from the department says residents of the area are not thought to be in danger.
