Sentenced to 10 days, James spends 25 minutes at jail
He came, he went: LaMichael James spent 25 minutes at the jail Friday afternoon before being released on electronic monitoring.

EUGENE, Ore. -- Hours after being sentenced to start serving 10 days in jail by 4 p.m. Friday, University of Oregon star running back LaMichael James reported to jail -- and was promptly released 25 minutes later.

After a hearing Friday morning where James pleaded guilty to one count of misdemeanor harassment, District Attorney Alex Gardner predicted James wouldn't serve all 10 days minus 38 hours time served due to a shortage of jail beds.

James reported to jail at 12:25 p.m. Friday -- and was released at 12:50 p.m. after being interviewed by the jail's population management team. Jail staff placed him on electronic surveillance for the remainder of his sentence.
