Say goodbye to winter
PORTLAND, Ore. – It's the last full day of winter for the 2009 to 2010 season. And, thanks to El Nino, the Pacific Northwest had a very mild one.
Winter officially ends 10:31:59 a.m. Saturday, with spring officially starting on the West Coast at 10:32 a.m.
However, Friday was a day for spring-like weather nonetheless. Daytime highs are predicted to be near 65 degrees Fahrenheit in the valleys, with between 65 degrees and 70 degrees expected along the Oregon coast.
Highs on the first day of spring are expected to be near 66 degrees Fahrenheit. Follow updates on the weather.
Meanwhile, expect a somewhat wet Spring Break. Spring Break typically runs for a week starting as soon as March 8 and ending as late as April 4, as set by each school system. See "Nine ways to take a cheap spring break."
