Investigation into teen's murder continues
MILWAUKIE, Ore. - As KATU News continues to dig for information in the case of a 15-year-old Texas girl found strangled in a Milwaukie apartment, we look at three of the people who were near her in the hours leading up to her murder.
Dani Countryman was killed over the weekend while she was attending a party at the Balboa Apartment Complex located at 2717 S.E. Courtney Road. An autopsy showed she was strangled and police are now trying to piece together what happened.
Countryman spent her final day alive above the Willamette River with her 20-year-old sister, Ashley Countryman.
The girls spent numerous days on the area rivers and that is where Ashley's mother said the older girl met 24-year-old Ricky Sprayberry, three weeks ago.
"He better not ever set face around me again, or my daughter or my granddaughter," said Jan Young.
Young is angry about a criminal record KATU News uncovered at the Juvenile Justice Center in Spokane, Washington, which shows Sprayberry, just shy of his 18th birthday, had sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old girl.
According to detectives, Sprayberry is not a suspect in the murder of Dani Countryman, just one of many men who were near her on the eve of her murder.
"We have a number of individuals who we have been speaking with," said Detective Jim Strovink with the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office.

Lee Lindsay, 21, is another man connected to Countryman. He is also not a suspect, but through a conversation with KATU News through his MySpace page, he told us he had sex with her the morning she was found dead. He said he is not the killer.

Young said Ashley told her Lindsay was one of the people lying next to the young girl when her body was discovered.
Another man, Calen J. Blauser, is also not a suspect, but was arrested at the apartment on an unrelated charge.
Once again, none of these three men have been named as a suspect or person of interest in Countryman's murder. At this point, they are just three men who happened to be near her the night before her death and whom detectives confirm have criminal records.
